August 31,2010

Well, it's official! I have Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) , which I understand is a small blessing. This didn't happen for any reason except it's in God's plan for me. I did everything right. I took care of myself. It's just one of those things that happens. I was supposed to start my chemmo today but I believe they are waiting until Wednesday morning. Gives me a few more hours to get used to the idea. I'm waiting on Laney to give an explanation of my treatment and the more detailed parts of this. She has researched her little booty off learning about this stuff. Lacey is on her way to the hospital to spend a few days with me now. She is going to get rid of some of this hair for me to make my days easier with showers and such. I understand I only have about 3 weeks after the treatment starts that it's starts to come out. I'm not going to think about that....just going to think about what it will be like when it comes back in. I just want it long enough for Marti Sue's little hands to grab. :)    please send me messages!!!

  1. You have been on my mind constantly since you texted me last week-lots of prayers. I want to come visit but I realized that you probably haven't felt like having much company. You have had a lot to digest in the last week. I want to go to lunch and the movies with you! At least now you know what you are facing and you can start dealing with it.
I told Hugh to let me know if there was anything I could do. I will come sit with you while you have chemo, spend the night so Hugh can have a night at home, go feed your animals, clean your house, grocery shop for your boys, whatever, just let me know.
And when you feel like company let me know.
I miss you and love you,
    Alison

  3. (Yeah! I learned to blog thanks to you, Lundy!) Thank you for creating this blog to stay in touch. I have wanted to be there with you and Hugh and Turner and everyone. This is a precious poem on your blog, just like YOU are so precious, and loving! And yes, the hair will grow back for your wonderfully great Marti Sue to pull! You have a wonderful family and they are strong to help you. I am glad you finally got the results back from all the test and you start your treatments today. Cyber hug from me now! Love you!

  5. I love you, my second Mom!!! You are one of the most AMAZING people I know, and I know you will get through this! My mom and grandmother have been praying for you, and they even put you on our prayer list at church! Everything is going to work out just fine. I'm planning on coming to see you...maybe even this weekend, ofcourse depending on how you feel.

  6. Hi Lundy, I'm so glad you made this blog for us to keep up with you. Laney is being so strong and such a big sister during this time. You raised some very wonderfule kids! Laney is definitely something special - as you already know! I love you all dearly and am praying for you daily.

Get better soon! Oh and I love that I found out your favorite author is Nicholas Sparks. His books are the only ones I ever read too. See how much you find out you have in common with people when you do fun things like this. Hee Hee. I'll be happy to send some down your way if you feel up to reading while you're there.

    I love you bunches!
